Gentlemen, make plans to join us at Franklin Lanes on Saturday, February 22 from 11:30 - 2:00. The cost is $17 per person which includes 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and a drink. 100th Anniversary

Reflections Of Our Past And How It’s Molded Our Future

Dear Washington Avenue members,

Per our records, the group that provided the foundation for Washington Avenue Church of Christ first me as a congregation of the Lords people approximately 100 years ago, in the Fall of 1924. Since that time, our congregation has been faithfully meeting as a body of the Lords church.

Given this milestone, the eldership felt it’s appropriate to remember this event, take time to reflect on this history, reminisce about the milestones and times of celebration, and reflect how difficult times shaped our congregation and caused us to grown stronger as a church.

The day chosen for this is December 15, 2024

To allow for the special anniversary presentation and activities, our normal Sunday worship schedule will be adjusted.

9:30 - Morning Bible Classes

10:25 - Morning Worship

12:15 - 1:30 Old Fashioned Potluck

Quartet Singing - View Displays

2:00 - 2:45 - Auditorium Presentation

2:45 - 3:15 - Congregational Singing

3:30 - Young Men Led Evening Worship

We’re confident you’ll enjoy the many historical photographs and other reminders, the presentation that’s been prepared, but more importantly, we want to allow this history to be an encouragement to all of us as we continue to serve the Lord… for the next 100 years. Please plan to join us!

Meats will be provided, but please bring a side dish and/or desserts to share.
